The Delaware County Office for the Aging is the Agency Charged with the Responsibility of Improving the Quality of Life for Older Delaware County Residents. Utilizing a Mixture of Direct and Subcontracted Services, the Agency has Developed Strategies that are Intended to Assist the Most Vulnerable of Our Seniors in Being able to live as Independently as Possible in Their own Homes. The Agency is Also Responsible for the General well being of Elders Regardless of Gender, Race or Income and has Taken on the role as Educators as Well as Service Providers to Assist Seniors in Being Smart Planners and Strong Advocates for Their Personal Well Being.
NY Connects gives information and counseling to people of all ages who need long term services and supports to help them maintain or improve their daily lives and health. This could be an older adult, a child or an adult with a disability, a family member or caregiver, a friend or a neighbor, or even a helping professional. NY Connects is a resource that links the community to services of their choice in order to remain independent as long as possible regardless of insurance.
Provides a hot, nutritious noon time meal to senior citizens in six dining centers in Delaware County. Home delivered meals are available to seniors unable to get to the dining centers. Transportation is also provided to the dining centers, shopping assistance, information and referral services, and recreational activities.
