Delaware County Legacy Corps is a Free Community Based Program that Provides Respite to Caregiver Households, and Helps Care Recipients Remain Independent for as Long as Possible. Legacy Corp Volunteers can Spend Time with a Care Recipient While Providing the Opportunity for the Caregiver to run Personal Errands, go to Appointments, or even to Just have Free time for Themselves. Care Giving can be a Stressful and Isolating Process, so a much Needed Break could be in Order. Volunteers can Help by Taking a Recipient to an Appointment, Preparing a Meal, or Spending Time Socializing with your Loved One.
HIICAP(Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program) Offers Free Help with Understanding Health Insurance and Comparing and Choosing the Correct Policies for your Needs. The Program Provides Delaware County Residents Aged 60 and Older with Information, Education, and Counseling Regarding their Insurance Plans Including Medicare, New York State EPIC, Long Term Care Insurance, and Other Insurance Issues. Trained HIICAP Staff will help you Find Affordable Coverage, fill Medicare's Gaps, and Solve Issues with your Current Plan.
Delhi Senior Community is a non-assisted living home to 45 senior citizens. The Service Coordinator, Lara Yambor, coordinates services by assessing the needs of the residents and assisting to meet those needs so that the resident can maintain independent living with the highest degree of self responsibility and quality of life possible. Residents can be connected with appropriate services such as in-home Aid Services, Public Assistance (HEAP, SNAP, Medicaid), Senior Meals, and Transportation. The Service Coordinator also keeps residents informed on ways that they can save money such as enrolling in the Energy Assistance Program, Life Line, and obtaining Farmer's Market coupons.
